If I were installing the Emtek 4812, I would plug the unit lock cutout with a matching hardwood block or “dutchman”. This should be glued in place, secured with hardwood dowels or biscuits and sanded smooth. I believe this will yield a much better appearance than the use of wrap-around plates. The lock requires two 2-⅛″ crossbore holes on 5-½″ centers together with two 1″ edge bores, these are best done using a pro boring jig for accuracy. Specify backset of 2-⅜″ or 2-¾″ when ordering. Avoid the available interconnect device which can be problematic. Some locksmiths can source Emtek product and provide competent installation service and/or advise. My two cents.
