candado3 I’ve had this large mortice or is it mortise lock for quite a number of years and thought some of you might be interested in seeing it. Not sure of it’s origin. It is 9″ long 6″ wide and 1 ¼″ thick. There is a working key which is bent a bit but I hesitate to try to straighten it as I’m afraid it might break.
Huw Eastwood It would normally be called a Rim lock as its surface mounted with just a thin salvage plate which extends over the door edge.
