It is List 2 Fire-Resisting safe, a model which was of square bodied construction up until around the turn of the century when they began bending the outer plate in one piece. You will usually find an appropriate name plate on Ebay like one today but which is 8″ wide. Example :
Many thanks safeman, I thought it might have been a Milners special safe, due to the size of the non-existent brass door plaque.
Also the door transfer (inside safe) say’s Milners safe co Liverpool & London no mention of Manchester! Was 1906 pre Manchester site being up and running?
