Anthony Hi, I’m new to this forum, so please bear with me. I would really appreciate any help identifying this Gibbons horizontal sash lock, it has 2 different gauge keyhole and wardings. any info on age, application would be grateful. Hopefully I can attach a few pictures to help. Thanks for any help Tony
magpie Hi Tony, This particular way of master-keying locks was patented by Gibbons in 1899, where one keyhole accepts that lock’s differ key, and the second keyhole accepts the master key for the suite. These locks were still listed in their 1958 catalogue. They were produced for buildings requiring a master system, e.g. hospitals, hotels. The third photo, although not of a two-keyhole lock, shows the same follower and latch design as in your lock. Regards, Karl.
