I have a large lock and key found in my fathers garden in the 1970s. The key measures 9″ in length
The lock is 7″/7″
I would appreciate some information, seems to be circa 1700. I have been told it could be German or French,would it have been from a church or a building of that kind?
It does not work at present, but I think with some cleaning it could be restored to working order. what would be the best way to clean the lock.
