Suzzie Belcher Isn’t it interesting how something develops…. A customer came along for a copy key to an old lock, sounds very ordinary until we hear more. I’ll post some photos first. The job was to make a copy of a non-original key for this cabinet lock which came from a long case clock. (The clock had a solid brass dial) The clock was made by Thomas Phippard in 1730. He was from Poole in Dorset, England. He also was a retained fireman. I have found a small snippet of information which makes reference to him. It turned into a nice little bit of information about a name that I had never heard of before.
