Gougler Bicycle Combination Lock

I have these two old Gougler Bicycle combination locks (#C4206 and C7222) and have lost the combination numbers. Is there any way to determine the combination numbers from these numbers on the back of the locks? Please see enclosed pictures.

John, I have been attracted to these locks for about a year & have gathered up a few.
I have not had any luck finding lost combinations….But I don’t spend a lot for them & just hang them up. It would be nice to see them open, but like padlock’s with out keys…I have many, I think it is the odd style of these that attract me, wish that I could be more helpful…………..Donnie

John, one just sold on ebay for $38.00 with the combination..It has a 4 digit combo & was right to left in sequence…I was tempted to bid on it, but was able to refrain, after it sold I had regret’s because it HAD the combination tag with it…… Some are left to right & others right to left.. I’m not sure how you tell the diff. I posted two lock’s with #'s on here a while back And had no luck.
If you ever get tired of these hanging around, I may be interested in buying them, combination or not………regards, Donnie

I do not mean to be rude but this here is the Antique Locks forum and not the How to manipulate or bypass locks forum. We mainly talk about history here and not on how to manipulate or bypass locks even if they may not be in use any longer. If your questions would however help to better security of a product that is still distributed I am sure it would be okay but this is not the case.

So if you want to talk about manipulation or how to crack these locks how about joining a forum where these matters are discussed frequently 🙂?
If you do not know where to go just pass me a pm and I may lead you in the right direction.

Again, we are talking about HISTORY here!

Donnie, I am not a lock collector and got these in a tool box at a swap meet. If you are wanting to buy them let me know how much and you pay the shipping ( around $5.00 or $6.00).
I’m glad someone who collects locks will end up with them.

This lock falls into the history category and it really shouldn’t be used as a security device any longer as a bolt cutter will easily put it to a very nasty end. They are nice specimens of padlocks and would be a shame to lose them from collections.

I can understand that… I mean… when I was a kid I was constructing Dams but now I also do not care about them any longer. Ah well maybe we all should sometimes remember our childhood and build a Dam you know? Maybe that would relax you a little more. I could also start insulting you now. Or like this other guy backfired earlier: “%&GFG$§$§”%GFG!!! Feeling lonely now??" but what for? I am not a cave man, neither am I American 😉
Interesting how people loose their attitude so quickly I only tried to remember you in a polite way that this here is a forum about history, that’s all 🙂
