wylk I ran across an eBay auction for a book, Diary of a Safeman, by C.L. Corey. Does anybody have opinions whether this is a good read or something to forget?
Doug MacQueen It is more of a small picture book of some safes worked on back in the 1920-30’s by Corey, with some info about the man himself. Somewhat interesting but more valuable to someone in the trade. Doug
Adrian Weber Hey Doug, as I have a HUGE passion for safes but can not own any because of money and weight I collect books on safes, locks and security. I have a few videos up about books that I already own. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuJXoyxb0hM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ultUUpXateo I would be interested in this book.
wylk The eBay auction of Diary of a Safeman is item number 170992620848 (or just search for the title). But it looks like they will only ship within the US. A less expensive copy is currently at Hawley Lock Supply, http://hawleylocksupply.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HLS&Product_Code=Diary-Of-A-Safeman&Category_Code=BKU but I don’t know if they’re keen on shipping internationally. A Google search on the title (put it in quotes) uncovers a few more copies being sold.
72FJ40 After reading the comments, I found a copy on Amazon. It is a small book; filled with photos and captions. A good reference of early safes; and some entertaining captions. Glad I added it to the book shelf.
Adrian Weber I also got the book now and was able to skip through it a little. Amazing work and really look forward reading it page by page!
