Posting pictures of 4 locks which I found from our ancestral house.

Guess one of my great grandfather was a lock collector.🙁angel):

Could someone please comment on the importance & the value of these locks.

Hemang, I’m no expert on Indian locks, but I can tell you from a collecting point of view that it’s hard to tell the ages of your locks as there are copies like them on Ebay all the time. Another thing that will affect value is working origional keys. I collect American,English and German padlocks and have shyed away from Indian locks because of all the fakes or reproductions on the market. It is cool that you have locks that once belonged to your ancestors, something that will be worth holding onto and passing on to your children. Mark

Hemang, Like I said in my first post, I don’t collect Indian locks so I really don’t want to try putting a value on yours. Maybe someone else on here who is more into Indian locks will step in and give you a price range. Mark

Sorry mate but probably not older then 50 years and still made today in India. I know lots of them are made in Mumbai (have a friend seeing them there making those). I also have an Indian trick lock but I would never have spent money on that myself. I don’t like it that they fake like every big trade on the market and want to sell it for big money. In Mumbai you can get them for like 2-6 bugs depends on the size and how could you are in negotiations, so it could also be 12-16 😉

They are nice looking so if you have the keys just keep em 🙂
