Curious about key

I am curious about a key I just added to my collection. I have never had a key with a year marked on it before and I was wondering if I could just get a bit of knowledge on this one. Any comments are appreciated. 🙁mm): Thank you!

1679 is most likely the key change number or possibly the key blank number of your bit key and not the year.

I didn’t even think of that???

I have never seen a key with a 4 didgit # on it so I assumed it was the year. Thank you for the reply I appreciate it. 🙁mm):

I would agree with that this is either a key number or part number.
