Ooops, meant #4 has no key. Can’t tell if 3 requires one or not.

And here I thought it might have something to do with how easily one could be “levered off by Pikeys”. That’s a good one Tom.

Well for a start (sorry Tom) none were made by Chatwood, these all barr one were Chubb manufactured The odd one out in of course the John Tann! being one which is the last one (far right) They all are quite heavy the two rotarys are well lumpy, and pretty secure in the wall Not sure which will become a sought after collecters item but pehaps if you get the chance all might be worth something one day.

Anyone else seen a bank looking like the picture which includes The Midland Bank trap?

Well Yes, many Chubb 2H night safe traps of this type were suppied to another well known UK High st bank though later modified without a solid bronze facia (cheaper to manufactor I supose) another one that I wish for a penny for everyone worked on

I think the shiniest one is actually a Chubb C/A trap, C/A standing for Chatwood Adaptable. They were used to replace the old rotar traps which was a hell of a job as you had to cut the trap and safe out of the wall using road drills. And both the trap and recieving safe had to be removed and replaced. The advantage of the C/A trap was that it could be removed from the wall for servicing.
