Hello all, im new here and need an answer. I have a 1934 dodge door lock barrel and im going to make a key to it but I cant for the life me remember how to take it apart. I did one about 12 years ago and remember you drilled a hole to push down a retaining wire or lever but cant remember where anybody have any ideas. Yours ebony.🙁-:

I’m pretty sure you have to have the right key in the cylinder to remove the cylinder (make sense?) I know on most early GM vehicles that there is a pin/tab that has to be pushed.

Impressioning is the best method for making keys for those locks. Any locksmith should be able to help.

The 1934 Dodge used an unusual offset key called an Omega. See US Patent 1,915.897 for more information. Your locksmith will need to source an old Ilco 1122ZD or equivalent key blank, long obsolete; but there are some sources for these old keys. See image attached:

Hello and thanks guys, I am a locksmith and I do have some original blanks but due to there offset nature im not going to risk trying to impression the key also i have to key it to a certain key. Im sure it has a hidden wire somewhere in the barrel?
