Von Duprin Antique Push Bar Device

I have a Von Duprin antique push bar device that I believe came out of an old high school in Indianapolis which is where the Von Duprin company was founded. It includes the 3 ft bar and 2 end mechanism castings. These are heavey brass castings with a Chrome plated finish. The finish is in very good shape. I am not sure of the year. The casting have cast on the back the Von Duprin name with German accents / fonts and series number 44124. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the age and value of it. I wish to sell it as it has been in the closet for many, many years. I can be reached on email at wildwes2@yahoo.com

We would really need a picture to be sure we are correct on the age of the device. If I was to guess it might be a model A but I need to see it to be sure.

Well I can tell you the latter model of hardware that takes after what you have there. It is called the Von Duprin 55 or 88 concealed exit device. The bad news is that you only have half of the device. The part that goes inside the door is not there. See page 6 of the modern example:

Never seen one like that but the art deco design suggests 1930s.
