Huw Eastwood Found this one hiding in with that unusual dual control lock I posted recently. The precision in these is quite surprising for a lower level mass produced lock, the tolerances are pretty tight with 6 nicely fitting levers including monitor and a beautifully smooth action to lock and unlock. Also hiding was this WonderBox mini safe made by a Spanish company back in the 90s, in fact I think they might still be making similar. These also have a hidden surprise in that the whole door, lock plug and the body are completely case hardened.
Huw Eastwood It’s years since I’ve taken the cap off this one Gary I’ll have a look when I get a chance, from memory it was pretty basic with only a monitor lever and no detector but I’ll have to check to be sure.
Gary Stephenson It may be that only the mk2 version had the detector, or could be a totally different lock.
Huw Eastwood Well I wasn’t expecting that.. Cheers Gary, if you hadn’t mentioned the detector I wouldn’t have thought any more about it or bothered to look at it again. It turns out it’s not what I had pictured in my my mind at all.
