Antique FORD motor company lock....need help

Does anyone have any information on this lock? I have not been able to locate any info. Its quite large and weighs about 6 pounds. Must have been used to lock a train car or warehouse. Thanks….Frank

Can you post a pic of the key? My first impression is it’s a fantasy lock. There were locks like this in this size that had Winchester,Pauly jail and who knows what else. Most if not all of them had the same key. I’m not aware of a real lock that size being used back in the day. Mark🙁think):

Please post a pic of the front, back and key. Please size the lock & key in the pictures so they take up most of the shot if you can so we can get the most detail. Even if it is a “fantasy lock” they are still worth something. It is knowing what it is and if it is really a Ford lock that counts.

Before finding out more of this locks history, you would have to either study or find some one who is knowledgeable of the life and business models that Henry Ford had. He was a pioneer in the mass prodution of factories and fabrication. But if you ask me personally your lock is very intersesting and might have some value in the antique metal manufacturers market.

Don’t know why it didn’t stick but I replied to this shortly after the first post??? The lock is a fantasy lock made by a gentleman from the Las Vegas Nevada area in the early 1980’s. He and or a small group of other collects made a rather extensive line to include Union Pacific, Wells Fargo, Pauly Jail Winchester and a number of others. They are of good quality construction and have earned a place in the collecting ranks. If sold on ebay my guess would be from $80 to $200. I think I have a sales flyer from them somewhere and will try to dig it out and post here on the thread. Hope this help shead some light???
