railroad lock with key

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about this lock I have.The key whole cover has FWSY CO. stamped on it and the key that opens it has the letters MOPAC stamped on it the other key don’t open it but came with the set and it has 1ID9 stamped on it any info would be good to know Thanks momof4.

MOPAC = Missouri Pacific

So that marked key just happens to fit. It is not the original. Always good to have a working key but that will not add value with that marking.

I am not sure what a stock yard padlock might bring. Knowing the back story or origin of a logo padlock will ALWAYS help so at least you have some of that. So if I was to guess I would range it $10-40 depending on who is bidding but that is a real loose guess, I don’t collect padlocks. Railroad collectors are in greater numbers as they collect locks and other stuff like date nails. Do mention that the key is marked with the railroad markings.

Your next move is to find out the history of the stock yards.
