Combination for Gougler keyless lock

I have been trying to figure out how to open this lock for some time. Got some help yesterday on another site but must have been for a different model. Can someone help with the combination? There is no model number on lock but on the back there is a letter and three numbers. Thank you.

Do I go all the way to the right till it stops and then start counting and turning left? Thanks Earl If that is what I am supposed to do the lock still will not open.

Earl, for some reason the code list dosn’t seem to work for the locks with the positive stop. I checked three of mine and the last three digits are right ,but the first number is off. If you have the time try going through the series. Start by turning all the way to the right then count the clicks or stops L1-R2-L5-R4. If that dosn’t work increase the first digit by one and repeat the sequence from the right stop (L2-R2-L5-R4) Then(L3-R2-L5-R4) and so on. It shouldn’t take you long to go through the sequence, I’m not sure how large the first number can be, if you would stop at ten or if you could go on up to twenty or more. None of my locks have a first digit higher than ten but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some that started with a twelve or thirteen. Good luck and let me know how it comes out. Mark

You were right! I went up to 15 and the was the magic number. It opened and works perfectly. Thank you very much! Earl

Earl, Glad it worked ! I just checked one of my locks and realized that the most clicks from the start going left is eighteen. I really like the old Gougler and Miller locks,pretty simple design but they work so good. Mark

Oldbiscuit, you’re fantastic! We just found an old Gougler Keyless RD200 Deluxe in our basement this morning, locked with no combo. I’ve been from one site to the next trying to figure out the combo so we can see if it even works with no luck. But your suggestion was exactly right. And, happily, I only had to go as far as “L2” to get the combo to work. Now, any thoughts/suggestions on how much a working RD200 is worth? Thanks again!

Ironwolf, price is what ever a buyer will pay and you as the seller are willing to take. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, but I’ve seen them sell(with combo) anywhere from $5 up to $50. It all has to do with condition and if it has any other company name on it, such as BF Goodrich. I’m glad though that you were able to get it opened, not all of them have the combos listed. Mark
