Emma This lock and key belonged to a wardrobe which I have been told originated from Belgium late 1800s. There is a stamp on the lock GG with a key in the middle. See picture. Can anyone give me any information. Thanks.
Paul Prescott The design and methods of construction would support such a country of origin / date. It could be French, or Belgian / maybe German. The quality is too poor to be early 1800’s IMO as it is a mass produced (ie machine made) lock. And probably not after 1919.
