Chris Gower Firstly sorry for delay in postings, I hope to rectify this and post a new item each week. This set of Legirons is one of the oldest restraints in my collection. I bought them in about 1970 and Brian Morland made a key for them about 52 years ago - many thanks! There is a similar set in The Tower of London dated about 1630, they lock with a wedge type spring lock and it is unusual to find two shackles that each have a lock. Normally they used a looped chain and a single shackle locked the cuffs or Legirons in place.
