The Diebold safe should be having a 5 number combination. Even you can find the numbers on the handle inside the door panel also you may find numbers.
Usually, there should be a light mark on the back with a manufacturer brand. Browsing the official industry database would give you an idea about the manufacturing date. The serial number I mentioned at the beginning has more than enough information to when your safe was manufactured.
Mosler safes on the other hand, usually have a serial number on or near the handle. I proudly own one Mosler safe which has a 5 number on the door handle. The covering of lock box on indie of the door has another 5 digit number stamped on it. Experts suggest that from the number on the knob, the experts could make out the year of manufacturing.
Mosler, Bahmann & Company was founded around 1866/1867. In 1874, Gustav Mosler died and in 1877 the Mosler’s Safe & Lock Company. Most of the Mosler Safes are from Cincinnati.
Would you mind checking the Cincinnati Directory for Mosler Bahmann.
