Small Antique Box please help identify

Hi everyone,

I just came across this safe from a second-hand store. For sale at 200 usd.
The size is around 25 × 25 × 40 cm. It has 1 key (no longer original).
After locked you can slide the brass lion mask at the center to conceal the key hole. This mask can only be slided back to reveal the key hole when the 2 smaller masks (each has letters A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,K) are set at the right letter. It’s definitely old.

Appreciate if someone know and could let me know more about this box. Perhaps a French one?

Pictures of the key and the internals of the lock would probably help to ID. Although it is entirely possible the lock was made by a different maker. Doug

Here are pics of the key (apparently it is not original) and the internal. Stamped 1230 on one of its lock. Hope it help to ID the safe.

One of my friend suggested it might be a Carl Schlieper from Germany. But I couldn’t find out more about that name.
