"It is an ASRO flat lock UK brand and manufacture I think from around 1940 when that advert was published.
It is made under UK patent numbers 483048 and 458316.
It is about 83×35×20 and the ‘catch’ is about 35 high.
It is mounted on the inside of the door and the ‘catch’ is manipulated by hand from the outside of the door.
It comes from a wardrobe which appears to be Australian made as it mention Australian Standards on it.
It is metal, parts of which may be brass although it is silver in colour (chrome plated?)
The one pictured is the one I have and it fits the RH door of the wardrobe."
