It is important to take marks like GR, WR, VR etc with a pinch of salt as makers of the period very often stamped spurious and meaningless marks on their locks.
If one where to take the marking literally it could be anywhere from 1714 - 1830. Only a close examination of the design and method of construction may shed some light but given the poor condition of this lock it’s going to be impossible to say.
