EuropeLocks I have a key and a padlock with a key from the V&R Blakemore company in Birmingham, England. Been on the net for weeks looking for any information but have come up empty. The only thing I can find is they made gun parts. Anybody have any info on this company? I have enclosed a picture of the key and the padlock.
Paul Prescott I only see one picture ? Anyway, not a maker I’ve heard of before - however it was a common practice for locks to be stamped with the name of the supplier / retailer if so ordered. The key you show is probably for a cell lock and by the shape of the bow & turning I am confident it was made by James Gibbons.
amazing01 Looks kind of short for a cell lock key. Can you get the other picture up and maybe include something in the picture for scale……I use an American dime (10 cent piece), a ruler works too. Cheers, Mike DC/
Paul Prescott The length is fine for locks made by Gibbons etc. The cuts (steps) of the key being single sided (ie only designed to work from one side) and the warding being the same only reinforce what it’s for.
