I really don’t know how I found this site since my computer ability is nil, but here I am and hello to all.
Just to show you what a good sense of humor I have, I’ll tell you what I’d like to find:
A Yale Bicentric safe deposit function GEARED padlock about 2-½″. I made keys for one of these about 20 years ago for a friend who has since passed on. The geared concept I hadn’t seen before. Both keys had to be turned at the same time OR, with both keys inserted, turning one key would spin the other too.
An Ultra 700 or 800 door lock in new or excellent condition. I forget what the difference was, maybe single vs double cylinder. If anyone knows, would you let me know. I would appreciate it. For those who don’t have any idea about these deadbolt locks, they were similiar to unit locks made by Corbin (and others) that “clamped” on the door. Installation was very simple. A rectangular “notch” was cut out of the door and the deadbolt just slid in from the door edge, the clamping screws accessable only from the edge of the door, making it impossible to remove unless the door was open. I recall the rectangular bolt was massive and had good cylinder protection from spinning. I also believe they accepted any type mortise cylinder, may have been secured by two set screws per cylinder and may have been connected with Medeco at the time. Additional info would be greatly appreciated.
