Here is a bit of info for you. The Herring Hall Marvin Company was a consolidation of Hall’ Safe & Lock Co., Cincinnati; Marvin Safe Co., New York City; and Farrel & Co. and Meyers & Smith, Philadelphia. Diebold purchased the assets in September of 1959 but due to a court challenge did not actually take possession until the suit was settled in March of 1961.
You can find pictures from old HHM catalogs on the web. My best guess on the date for the one you posted in somewhere from the 1930’s.
