It depends on what you consider an antique. 50 years old is not that old when you are talking locks, keys, cuffs, and such. I have locks, keys, and slave irons that were made in the 1700’s…….those are old!!!
As to the value, I can say that I paid $22.00 for mine; I never see this type of lock fetch a big price and I am a lock watcher……I am on eBay watching what locks go for all the time to keep up on what the lock market is doing. We are in a slow economic time and prices are down. But, I bought mine when times were much better and still got it for $22.00. What does that tell you? I can show you a few photos of my lock:
BTW, I will call into doubt the 50 year old thing……I don’t belive that my lock is nearly that old and I have doubts that the other one is either. Sorry. I would like to hear other collector’s opinions on this. However, I will say that the photos of the other lock are pretty bad and you can not see it in detail, so I may be wrong. But, even if it is 50 years old, it is still not worth a whole lot……not like it’s a story lock or an 18th century handmade lock or anything like that.
