I LOVE antiques, mostly because I AM one. If you’ve heard and read about the battle of Vera Cruz of the Civil War in Southwest Missouri, then you know how thick the history lies here in the Ozarks. I keep my eyes to the ground wherever I walk around here. I found a padlock that looks suspiciously like one of those fakes that they sell for Civil War Reinactment groups. Only, this one has been in the creek for over 100 years. Too rusted up to tell the make and patent date. I’ll be working on cleaning it up a bit to see if the inscriptions on it can be read.
