Thanks Allen for your information. What ever happened to Chubb. They produced some great locks, then they seemed to outsource to a lower grade of padlocks. The AVAs are great locks.
Thanks again for the information.

Hi Paul, you are most welcome.
I worked for Chubb Australia Limited from 1983 through to 99/00 when it closed it’s Australian safe factories.
Chubb where initially sold of to ASSA who then keeped the high security locks section and moved the safe section onto Gunebbo allmost next day
From that point most safes where made in asia.
Gunebbo were unable to use the "Chubb’ name and had to settle for “Chubdsafes” all one word.
So in Australia, it’ easy to work out which safes are “real Chubb product” and which are made overseas.
Chubb Australia along with Wormald, CMI Safe Co & Lord Safe Co made some of the best safes in the world in the 60 ’s throught to the late 80’s
It’s a shame the safe market fall apart here in Australia, most of the companies above no longer exist.
We have only one remains safe manufacture left in Australia, CMI Safe Co.
