Houdini the man no prison could hold the Handcuff King turned professional in 1894. During his lifetime he amassed a massive collection of Books, Locks, handcuffs and magic memorabilia. After his death his brother Theo also a professional Escapologist took on most of his collection. To cut a very long story short when Theo died in 1945 many of the items went to Sidney Radner who set up a Museum in Niagra Falls. Many of the handcuffs were also sold to a US Locksmith called Nugent, in 1958 he sold his collection to Dick Wresch who toured the country giving presentations. Both these collections were auctioned and they are now on numerous collections throughout the world. David Copperfield has lots of incredibly rare pieces in his private museum.
