Slaymaker Padlock: Seeking Information

Hi everyone!
I inherited this padlock (along with many others) and am seeking information about this padlock. I discovered that it was a Slaymaker padlock. Any information about this is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

I have no specific info about that padlock but can tell you that Slaymaker Lock Co. opened in 1888 in Lancaster, PA. The firm known successively as S.R. Slaymaker, Slaymaker-Barry Co., Slaymaker Lock Co., Fraim-Slaymaker Hardware Co. and Slaymaker Lock Co., Inc. produced high quality padlocks designed to meet every conceivable need. At one time they were the world’s largest producer of railroad padlocks. They were in business for nearly a century until they closed in 1986*.

That $.25 padlock in 1913 would cost $6.39 today with a 2,454.4% cumulative rate of inflation! I’m no collector but I think early 20th century vintage as suggested by Nathan is about right.

Thank you both for the information!! I’m not a collector either i am learning about these locks and keys that were inherited to me and trying to find a buyer 🙂

more locks ,more pictures would help,you have any older lock please post.or not so old post to.
As for selling you can SOMETIMES get a somewhat idea by looking on ebay and another site on facebook for same type locks,but in the end you have to set YOUR price on what value you think or would accept for your locks.
Would like to see pictures of the locks ?
Keys and locks are always interesting,and older safes. Some keys are more valuable than the locks,sometimes not.

I attached more images of my empire 6 lever padlock and my b&o rr padlock as well as some of the keys that I have. I have no clue which keys i have may be of value so i pictured a few of them.

the fraim slaymaker B&O with key looks orig and should fetch a fair price,the empire pancake with key is nice too and you should find like items on ebay,the key with 1 on it looks like an old 6-8 lever lock, not sure about the rest ? nice items
b&o looks pretty nice so ask a good fair price on that one
