drew43a wroteI have has these for a long time and know nothing about them. the large one has “J.W.H. & Co.” with 2 other letters
“PC or PG” on it. the smaller one that has the chain loop on the bottom has a Key marked “Corbin” or is it “Gorbin”? and a pat. date on the back of the lock of Nov. 21,05. Would like to know any and all about them. Thanks.
Locks and Lockmakers of America, Rev 3rd. edition by the late Thomas F. Hennessy has a listing of padlock patents. U.S. Pat. No. 804,901 was issued 11/21/05 to Townsend & Johnson, New Britain, CT. New Britain was the home of affiliated companies Russell & Erwin Co., P & F Corbin Co. and Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. Your key is undoubtedly “Corbin” and made by the former Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., now CCL Security Products.
