very simple lever padlock Would like to know if anyone could direct me to a place to get the spring for the shackle on these and the various shackle springs for the 6 lever pancakes. Making new springs works ,but very time consuming real pain. THANK you for any help on the springs.

I have been noticing an up swing of pancake padlocks being sold on Ebay that clearly have been taken apart. Is the skill of making keys for these locks dead without taking them apart? My view is, if a spring is broken, particularly on these type of locks, leave the lock alone. It destroys the antiquity. Truly, I have repaired padlocks with broken springs, but there are certain padlocks I would not dream of opening.

i try making the keys without disassembling them,works most of the time. As far as taking them apart,i think everyone has a different outlook on it.
i been finding several with flat steel shims driven in the keyway,broken springs,bent levers ,wood,and broken lever sprins and pins. I prefer if they work and try not to repair if not needed.
