extradude Good day. New to the forum. Very happy to be a part of this. I’m currently working on disassembly and cleaning of an American 600 series that belonged to my grandfather. Unfortunately, I am stumped as to how to get this lock apart. Timothy Not sure of what part talking about taken apart. Here I have one just like it and here what should be like taken apart…. 1) Look into the shackle should see pin on bottom. Push it in all the way….. 2) Slowing pull the plug out and what for the “C” chip washer may fall out. 3) After got the plug out don’t turn the key just turn a little bit until the “C” chip washer pop out a little. Take it off the plug. 4) Sometime the silver pin will stay in. All you have to do it get a small tool to pop the pin back out. 5) Now can take the plug out to re-key or whatever need to be done. You may need longer plug follow to get the cylinder out. 6) Keep this in mind never turn the key or going to be in big trouble…. …..Timothy….
