Customer gave me this padlock need an ID and date if possible first post!

Lock says RV9 on the front of the latch and made in USA on the back. Also says pat.1-21-05 on the back of the body. Please help

I’m assuming pat.1-21-05 means it was patented January 21st either 1905 or 1805?

Looks similar to Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. No. 2822 found on Pg. 16 of their 1928 catalog, see pdf at the link.

Thanx for the info! Figures 3 and 4 definitely look like the lock on the patent. The catalog lock looks similar but mine has more rivets.
