American 600 Series Padlock

Here are Series 600 American padlock as not to sure if anyone has see this before. As they has change Series 600 so many time as the one have here don’t see too many of them….Timothy….

I’m pretty sure this lock was discontinued because the cylinder was vulnerable to being pulled out with a safe deposit type puller,
the newer version on this lock has a door over the cylinder, which defeats the puller

This is the first 600 series I’ve seen like this–every one I’ve seen has the brass figure-8 core. Is there a letter code on the lock? I cant see one. I would guess this is a very early model. In the 70’s they had figure-8 cores, then they transitioned to the steel plate cylinder cover and the blocky A logo approximately 1982 or so. I’ve never seen a 600 with the retainer plate, just series 700.

There no letter code on this padlock and yes there American padlock with the figure-eight core make in differ way as tear go by.
