N00B Mystery Lock

I recently came across this neat Brass Eagle lock, but cannot find any information online about it. It is fairly substantial and weighs 38oz. On the bolt, there is a “12” stamped closes to the closing mechanism. Any ideas or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! New to lock collecting and hoping this is something cool (either way, I like it a lot!)

It in’ an Eagle lock, t is jus a lock with an eagle on it. When unlocked one of the ends pivots out of the way I have seen newer versions hat were all made in China. I would think yours was made there too. It looks quite old and it isn’t unlikely that could precede WWII. Nice lock.
