Newbie needs help

hello! I recently purchased this lock at a yard sale and have been unable to find anything resembling it. I’m hoping someone here can help! Thank you!

I cant for the life of find it .. I have seen that logo before .. If I remember correctly it is a luggage/truck lock ..

Thanks for the lead. It’s a cool lock with a s/n. Was hoping to determine the age and potentially get the combination.

I’m pretty sure it’s a Slaymaker combo lock and judging from the style, I’d say the “art deco” period from around the 1920’s.. It really isn’t hard to decypher the codes for these locks. I’ll send you a PM to explain a easy way to open them. Mark

Thanks, very interesting! Do you know the company name? One word in the description (“in den Tresors”, should read “in den Tresoren” in standard German) is a bit strange, sounds maybe like an Austrian or Swiss dialect to me.

Sorry my friend that is NOT correct! This is an old German style of writing and 100 percent accurate. I did find lots of grammar mistakes in the English translation though.

The included paperwork mentions a sales price of “RM 7.60”, where the “RM” likely refers to the “Reichsmark” currency http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichsmark which was used in Germany from 1924 to 1948 and in Austria from 1938 to 1945.
