Yale bicentric padlock

c-2731 on cylinder,6pin ,I believe it has the large pins. does anyone happen to know where I would find this older code so I could cut a key ? other cylinder was turned about 1/16 and is stuck. all help is appreciated,this is my first bicenntric

Pictures would be helpful. I think this might be a dual control padlock so it needs both keys to turn for it to open but this is a guess.

thank you ,I looked in in reed and didn’t find it and also in hpc code source. finally got some pic’s on my thread
on 9-7-14. I can move the pins on both sides,shim just doesn’t enter,to tight.thought cutting a key to c-2731
I could remove that cylinder and thn work on the unmarked cylinder. tried graphite,didn’t really help,yet.

I am sure that is a unpublished code. Bicentric would have been attached to a master system and those records would have been in a file in the master key department of Yale in the end users name of the organisation. You would need to know who the padlock was used by when it was sold…. then need a letter to authorize you to request the records from them. SO this would be a dead end for the most part.

As for shimming you might want to know that the master side of the plug has in the 5 cylinders I have seen do have a lip that prevents you from shimming. I had to pick mine open. But all I have seen are knob and mortise cylinders.

thanks. the one cyl that moves a little,pins are real easy to get to,both sides, #2-3-4-chambers I can see bottom pin just move,top pins ar suck or jammed and do not go in to spring area. so pickin didn’t work yet. submerged in w 40 for anite r two. the oter cylinderisstuck fast. a y4 goes in but there is a small guide(lke a mater groove) tat block getting to those pins from the top,only 2 bottom ins are up.
other 4 are stuck against top n springs. looks like a nice paperweight . migt get one side to work after soakin. looks like either key wil work,o we’ll see after soaking over nite.

I believe this lock came from a system belonging to the Philladelphia (PA-USA) Suburban Electric Co. I have 2 marked C-2736 and one marked C-274 that were given to me by a former employee. They were discontinued by Yale and the electric company replaced them. The C number was an identifier for the key, and not a code (well I suppose it could be considered a blind code). C-274 is LH444854. I never bothered with the C2736. The unmarked plug is the master plug and mine are keyed GF733444 with one #2 master wafer in position 3 which would give you 735444. All three of my locks work with both keys.

The bicentric lock was designed to avoid key interchanges caused by split-pin masterkeying. One plug was for the change key while the other is for the master key, thus only one bottom pin together with a driver and spring should be found in each chamber of either plug.

your correct,this lock had no keys. the master side did have a spool in #2 chamber. I used a y4 in the c side and a gf in the master side and I pinned both cylinders different. I didn’t have any info on this lock and would like to thank all that replied.thank you
