The 1928 Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. Catalog No. 38 shows a No. 09855 Automobile Padlock, see pdf attached, note No. 09855B which has a different shaped shackle. Also made with longer shackles, No. 09855A with clearance to 4-¾″ when fully extended and No. 09855H with clearance to 5-¾″ when extended. Those two models were described as Bicycle and Motorcycle Padlocks, “for bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, laundry and navy bags etc. NOTE: The offset bottom of the above locks makes it convenient to easily insert key in the keyway when unlocking”.
