Yale & Towne padlock w/keys

This padlock was in my late uncle’s tool box that I inherited. I forgot about it until I recently came across it while looking for a lock for my backyard shed. I tried to research it online but could not locate one exactly the same. The number “23” appears on the back of the lock arm and also on the back of each key. The arm front says: Yale & Towne Mfg. Co. and under that: Stamford, Conn. U.S.A. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Is it worth saving or just a shed lock? It works. Thank you.

I found your padlock in a 1929 Yale catalog that I have posted the page below. Although your padlock is not rare, it is indeed worth keeping. The fact that you have its original keys inhances its desirability.

I think you would get between $20 to 40 on a E-bay sale.Could go a little higher if you were lucky enough to have two bidders who are partial to the lock with original keys.

Thank you for the information. Right now I’ll hang onto the padlock but my wife may twist my arm into selling it when we move into a smaller house. Right now my standard reply is we have the room and it doesn’t cost anything to keep it. Strange, isn’t it, how a man’s treasures are just junk to his wife! 🙁nod):
