Vintage Taylor No. 750 Padlock

A vintage Taylor No. 750 padlock I recently got. Interestingly the keys are mad of Aluminum. I have never seen Aluminum keys on a padlock before. The locking mechanism is very simple and so is also the padlock itself. It is a one sided wafer locking mechanism.

Aluminum is common on many locks in the 70s and early 80s. But they found out that the keys would break or wear very quickly and most customers didn’t like them.

Appears on pg. 151 of Taylor Lock Co. Catalog No. 35 © 1966. The “four square” padlock family for dependable protection. Here is a quality family of disc tumbler protection…modern in appearance with heavy, die cast, seamless bodies…provided with life time rust protection.

That catalog is in my personal collection and not for sale. It is a bound document and at 200 pages too large to scan page-by-page and stitch together. It did scan page 151 showing the “four square” padlock family and that pdf is attached.

I have the same problem with a sales brochure from Garny here which is about 80 pages and showing all of their actual safe models in the 50s. Once I get a scanner I will scan it all though but not yet.
