id Chubb Safe please

Can anyone id this chubb safe please, looking for a model and ONCR on it.
bolt has 78083 stamped into it,
body has MS82 stamped on it.
it has Chubb 9 lever locks, as primary and as secondary lock.
bolt work is square rather than round.

From 1st impressions, it’s an old pre 1950 document cabinet size 5.
No cash rating.

to be honest I cant remember from memory, i think it had the chubb fish on it.

2nd impression is taking me down the line of a Chubb Jewel, poss Monarch safe. Judging from its door plate & the addition of a fish on its escutcheon.

Can you recheck its serial number. There appears to be a digit missing to ID it correctly. Also can you check on the bolt facias for numbers/letters.

The serial number dates it to 1922. The style of the hinge would support this. Although it has been re-painted in a later colour which is a little confusing.

As for the details yep the stampings are very clear on the bolt work head,
The MS82 is not as clear but i did take my time to read it as best as possible and i cant see anything else near it

So do i take it that because its a 1922 safe its cash cover would only be classed as £1000 now days?
The customer wanted to know so they can tell their insurance company.

they have another chubb safe which looks older here are some pics,
the information on it is 41463 that is on the boltwork head,
customer said it has 3 wheel com lock on it.
any info on this would be great

I’ve taken the liberty of editing your posts, just to change the alignment of your images - hope you don’t mind.

To the 1st safe, given it’s age then the cash cover is going to be fairly low, the joke being it will probably be the same as some of the low grade imported rubbish :!: Personally I know which I would rather use 😃

The other safe is interesting, the s/n dates to late in 1863. Combination locks are quite rare on Chubb stuff of this vintage. The lock could be an early S&G or perhaps a Dalton. It should be marked on the dial ?

yes it was a S&G.
