I am very new to lock collecting and I got this Sargent padlock a few days ago. It’s from an estate sale, I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

Not sure if this is self made or genuine. Do you have a key for it?

I am leaning to self made myself but done a long time ago. While it wasn’t a bad job I don’t remember seeing that unit with that hole configuration. I will hold out for BBE and his view on this lock.

If he didn’t have a key making one would be dead easy. 😃:

I don’t have a key for this lock, would anyone know approx what year this lock would be from? I’ve tried to research myself but haven’t had any luck.

Looks like 1920 to me but not sure on that.

I would agree 1920’s to early 1930’s. Nice job, but does not look like factory models I have seen.
