I recently acquired a J. B. Miller Keyless Lock Co. combination lock as described in the 8th row of list here. My lock is in much nicer condition than the one pictured in the link:

Steel case. Steel shackle. Steel dial.
Face of lock has no numbers.
To open the lock:

[*]Set dial at the 12 o'clock position,
[*]Then turn the dial 7 clicks to the right,
[*]Then 5 clicks to the left,
[*]Then 3 clicks to the right,
[*]Then 4 clicks to the left.

I’ve tried this several times but it does not work. The lock appears to b4e in otherwise excellent condition - i.e. I don’t believe the insides are gunked up. Thoughts?
