CES lock

Fumbles

I have one lock for display that is unusual. It has USN on one side, CES in a circle type logo on the other. CES is on the key also but only one side. Of course, I can’t find any history on this lock. Wondered if anyone here might know of it’s origin.

They are a German lock company. They are still around.

German company that is still around and makes some decent locks but they are not a big player any longer, at least not along the mechanical locks.

Thankc for the link Dean. I did find them as a german company however a lock being marked US from Germany seemed odd. Am I safe to assume it would have been manufactured after WWII? I will try and get photos of the whole display to post this week end. And I was incorrect. This lock is stamped US ORD.

The US Navy that is marked on it might have tendered a contract to them for the locks. Also it might have been a test lock for a contract.
