My Padlock collection

Hi Guys. Happy Memorial Day! Here is a a little something to help everyone get to know me a little better. This is my current lock collection. It’s small, I know, but I have only been collecting the old ones for 30 days. Before that, I would buy the new ones, if I saw one that i liked. There is nothing really special in that, so I decided to start collecting old padlocks. I plan to expand the collection quite a bit in the coming months. If anyone wants any individual pictures, let me know. -Bobby

That’s a mighty nice start to a collection there Bobbyj. I’ve got most of those same locks in mine and I love them all. Welcome aboard and happy hunting. Keep your eyes open in thrift stores, junk shops and yard sales. I usually ask if they have any old locks or keys they want to part with and you’de be surprised at what some people have that they think is worthless. Good luck adding to your collection, Mark

Hi Bobby, I too am interested in the magnetic operated padlocks, I was lucky enough to find one with a clear plastic side so you can see how they work, the magnet bar is constructed so it has to pull 4 pins into position in order to pull the shackle up..
I think that they would be difficult to open with out the bar…Donnie
