Some interesting German Reich padlocks. Probably from around 1900 marked with D.R.G.M. 27165. D.R.G.M. means “Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster” - which was the smaller brother of the D.R.P. “Deutsches Reichs Patent” and only lasted for ten years. (In use from 1891 until 1945) I was not able to look this patent up but a German collector told me they would be called “Patent Steinke” Padlocks. He also told me that there would be two versions of it. One of them only locking up the hinge side of the shackle and another locking both sides up.
The pictures show the padlocks during their restoration and cleaning process. They are fully restored, cleaned and oiled now so if anyone is interested I could post more pictures.
