Hello everyone,
I have just found a minor mediation or translation mistake online:
http://www.antique-padlocks.com/comb_1dial_a-f.htm
If you take a look at the Bode Panzer combination padlock it is written "The German translation of “Bode Panzer” is “Ground Tank”. Mfg by: Bode Panzer AG (Germany)."
This mediation or translation is wrong. You can not translate the name Bode Panzer because the origin of the name is important in this case.
Bode: Louis Bode and Heinrich Troue founded Bode Panzer in 1858 there it was still called Bode & Troue
Panzer: In 1924 the company merges together with the Panzer AG Berlin (while Panzer not standing for tank it stands for Armour/Armor, the Armour of the safe of course) –> Bode Panzer!!!
And that is how the name Bode Panzer should be explained and not in any other way!
