Tom Gordon I cant answer that question but wondered what the practicalities were of accessing it and what details we knew were actually there?

Paul Prescott The was no ‘ East ’ Queen Victoria St, so no it cannot stand for East. Must be something else.
Parautoptic Possibly the postcode, QVS is now in EC4 (East Central 4) but in the early days there were no numbers, only letters, and E (East) covered the whole of East London. Dunno if EC existed in the early days. How old is your tag?

Warren63 So it does ! In my defence I’ve never really looked at them since I got my new spectacles. The only swaps I have are the insurance company ones as opposed to these makers ones. Thanks
